January 31 - February 4 2006 : The
largest IT event during this year, Kochi, Kerala, India
The City has hosted the State-sponsored `IT Kerala 2006,'
the largest information technology fair in the country, from
January 31 to February 4.
This event had four specific windows of business opportunities
with the presence of 150 companies and more than 20,000 trade
visitors were attended the fair, being held by the State
IT Mission in collaboration with a host of bodies
including NASSCOM.
`Connect Biz' has provided a platform to network with over 100
IT/ITES players in India and abroad while `Digital Lifestyle
Expo' will unravel evolving new age technology tools. `ICT
4 All' section had business
models
which enabled IT to empower the common man and `Kerala job mart'
had given the aspiring job seekers an easy access to the IT/ITES
majors in the country.
Technology giants like TCS, Intel, NeST, Genpact, Sutherland,
Progeon, IBS, Bharathi and host of other SME and small IT/ITES
companies were also among the participants. Business to business
meets with six diverse concurrent events, CEO conclave, COO
meet, infrastructure conclave and specific symposiums were
alongside the event.
IT Kerala 2006 has also hosted the `2006 National E-Governance
Summit' from February 2 to 4, along with the IT fair. The theme
of this year's event was `Accelerating e-governance,
collaborating, replicating and extending the reach.' Eminent
national and international speakers were also present in the
event alongwith the heads of government departments and NGOs
across the country. Apart from the invitations sent to colleges
and institutions, about 25,000 aspirants were present to meet
prospective employers in the job smart.
